Aren is a young Black man living a seemingly ordinary life. However, he quickly discovers that all is not what it seems and that he is in possession of remarkable abilities.
He is recruited to join an underground society of Black magicians and sorcerers who strive to preserve harmony in the world while dismantling systemic racism along the way.
